OK to commit .po files twice?

When committing .po files, the diffs are always cluttered with the line
number changes. Would it be OK to use two commits when updating .po
files — one after make locale-gnu-po-update and one after the messages
are edited? This would show what has been done more clearly and make it
easier for the other translators to review the changes. Or isn't
revision numbers _that_ cheap? :)
