Not at all.

I agree. The algorithmic rewrite would have to wait until 1.2 (not for
compatibility reasons, just due to the impact), and fixing the memory
leak will go a long way.

(I'll reiterate that someone should backport the memory leak fixes to
BDB and nominate that for 1.1.x as well.)
