Thank you for the patch, but these are only fragments of sentences, and it is not clear that they should end with a dot. Consistency with other parts of the book would be a good reason to change them, but already there are some places where such sentence fragments end with a dot and other places where they don't.

I don't think this should be changed unless O'Reilly policy demands it, and if that is the case we should fix the other instances at the same time.
