Which is how it's normally done in decentralized systems like
BitKeeper, arch, and Aegis. My proposal is influenced by what I know
about all of these systems (and a bit the reverse, too; I had a little
influence on Larry McVoy's thinking back in 1998, and maybe a little on
Peter Miller's thinking in 2000). Thus it's really a rather conservative
proposal; the primitive operations involved in syncing repositories
are fairly well understood.
