[i18n][French] I'd like to join french translation group

Hi,

I'd like to join the french translation group (if one exists), or create such a
group.

I've just read in the changelog of a recent version that translators were
needed, so I thought I could contribute.

My background :
- I'm entering last year of an MBA with joint honours Computing
- several trip to UK
- i've already done minor translations (two or 3 Motherboard monitor versions)
- I'm also a java programmer (not very good, but enough to understand code I
hope :D )
- I'm a subversion user (both svn server, and svn client (cmd line and subclipse
plugin)

I'm totally new to this kind of project organisation (for MBM I used to email
translated file to the devel), so I don't really know where to start
- I think I need somehow access to the svn repository where internationnal files lay
- I need to know if there are intln guidelines, apart the ones from the svn
hacking howto
- I need to know if there is already work done in this area (I mean in french)

I posted here hoping I could receive some help...
