Yes, and *only* after a merge from another tree in the repos. I mean,
I can checkout or update the source tree without problems.

Uhm, yes, I found these:

    <IfModule mod_mime.c>

        AddEncoding x-compress Z
        AddEncoding x-gzip gz tgz
    
Do you see any problem with this?

I tried putting that, both on client and on the server, but didn't
make any difference.
