ad 1. its a standard download from tigris.
$ svn --version
svn, version 1.0.0
   compiled Feb 25 2004, 18:32:49

ad 2. no.
i just used cygwin shell instead of cmd.exe. today the error occured again, and i tried cmd.exe
too. its the same, so cygwin has nothing to do with it.

ad 3. no.

the strange thing is, that it occurs just on trying to delete the .svn directory. is there any
special treatment?

Solo, I have 3 questions for you:

1. what version of SVN? I get the impression that you're building
/trunk quite a bit.

2. are you compiling svn within cygwin? In other words, is your svn
client a native cygwin binary? Or are you using the posted win32
binary?

3. do you have virus scanners running or something similar? The "access
denied" errors are very suspicious.
