Bad performance with large binary files

Hi,

I got a project containing in some subfolder a (large?) binary file (about
290 MB).
The complete project contains about 1300 files with 1.3 GB in sum.

When committing this project it lasts very long (> 3 min!!) till the
changed files are displayed.

Is there anything I can do to improve performance?

I´m using
TortoiseSVN 1.0.0, Build 781, UNICODE
Subversion 1.0.0,
apr 0.9.5
apr-iconv 0.9.5
apr-utils 0.9.5
berkeley db 4.2.52
neon 0.24
OpenSSL 0.9.7b 10 Apr 2003
zlib 1.1.4

on a Tecra9100 2,0 Ghz - 40 GByte HDD, W2k

Regards

Ralf
