I am trying to set up and use an SVN library then once it is working,
convince my boss to use it. I installed 1.0 and set up a repository. I
think imported my source code to a "trunk" directory, I also imported a tag
version. I copied from the trunk to a branch version, using an Eclipse
plugin, Subclipse (more on that in a minute). Whilst trying a few things
and attempting to do something else, I inadvertently deleted my branch
version from the repository. I still have the project in eclipse. with all
the svn folders and data.
How can I recreate the branch version with what I have in my working copy.
It won't commit (gets on error about not finding the repository files,
understandable!).
If I just take out the svn folders and data then re import into the branch,
will I be able to merge the changes I have made at a latter date?
I tried using SVN Tortoise as well, seems to work better than Subclipse,
but I still don't know how to recreate the branch version form the working
copy.
As for Subclipse, Eclipse beats itself to death trying to "decorate" the
files. And doesn't seem to work properly with version 1.0. I think it isn't
up to date with the Subversion version
If anyone there uses Eclipse I would love to have a chat and get a few
pointers. I need a library system and I hate CVS.
Thanks
Brian
