Log option Enhancement?

From: Hier, Steve <shier_at_interlinkelec.com>

I've been using SVN for a while -- great job.

I ran across a problem during development that I thought I'd run past
the developers for discussion as a possible enhancement. AFAIK svn (or
anything else I've worked with) doesn't currently support what I'd like
to do. Here is the scenario:

I'm working in controlled code looking at lines 100-105 of a given
source file. I can see what looks like a bug (that *I* didn't make) and
I'm wondering WHY this change was made (perhaps it is a valid change
after all).

Wouldn't it be NICE if you could do something like:

svn log foo.c:100-105

and get a listing of the revisions that changed just that sub-section of
source code lines?

I believe this would in some cases help speed up development and
tracking changes / reasons for the decisions that were made for a block
of code.

Any thoughts / comments?
