proposal: 1.0.1 to follow 1.0.0 fairly quickly

From: <kfogel_at_collab.net>

There are a number of bugfixes in the STATUS file for 1.0.1.

Meanwhile, it's likely that many of the initial bug reports about
1.0.0 will be answered with "Ah, yes, that'll be fixed in 1.0.1.".

So, let's try to release 1.0.1 within about three weeks of 1.0.0. I
don't think 1.0.1 needs a four week soak -- one or at most two weeks
of '1.0.1-beta1' should be enough.

This means merging all approved changes immediately after 1.0.0 is
released. We should try to get as many of those changes as possible
decided in advance. I don't want to rush any individual change, but
once a change _is_ approved, we shouldn't delay its merge.

So, full committers, review the 1.0.1 changes in STATUS when you get a
chance, and add your votes or vetos.

Or, if you think a quick 1.0.1 is a bad idea, let's talk about it now.
