Well, I consider it a "poor attitude" the same way I consider that Karl
has a "poor attitude" because he likes to initialize structures with
apr_pcalloc(). :) It's a technical disagreement, not a personal attack.

I think for the packaging materials in our tree, it's better to leave
something broken than apply a workaround, unless that would completely
break the package. (So, for instance, the Apache module install
workaround in packages/redhat-8+ is okay, because I'm presuming you
can't really build RPMs without that. But the book could simply be
omitted until the core build system is fixed to allow building it
without hacks.)
