Alright, I give up the arguement. I came to the discussion late and see
that the developers have spoken. At least 4 core developers have said
that this isn't going to change, it is no use debating any further.

I would suggest at the very least that a FAQ entry be added mentioning
that SVN + VS.net + ASP.net doesn't work and won't be fixed. As you
head into 1.0, I am sure a broader range of developers will look to use
your software.
