Check the archives. A pluggable-back-end-database is a big Wish Item
for post-1.0 subversion. It's been discussed for the last two years.
It also involves a lot of work. Glenn Thompson has been working on it
for a long time, trying to abstract libsvn_fs so it's possible. He and
cmpilato have been scheming about it.

But this isn't going to happen anytime soon. No weekend hack will make
it work. You're best off waiting for a larger design discussion
post-1.0.
