Mail it to the list and say "hey, this works".

Exactly the same thing. Mail a patch to the list and CC him saying
"hey, this is what i needed to do to get your stuff to work with my RPMs".

If you didn't have to change it to make it work, then you just reply and
say that it worked. If you did change it, send the people working on it
your changes. If there are other changes to the MDK RPM that depend on
this to work, then you can post them to the list so others can use them,
but you don't commit them until the change to the javahl stuff goes in
to the trunk, since the whole point of the RPMs are to package up what
is there in the trunk.
