Having learned the hard way in httpd/APR-land, you should never use anything
other than the stock GNU versions of autoconf and libtool.

Just download and install the original versions from ftp.gnu.org. Don't trust
any vendors to not screw it up and do something atrociously vendor-specific in
their autoconf and libtool. We've seen bugs introduced in both autoconf and
libtool by 'well-meaning' vendors of all kinds. -- justin
