I prefer having the .svn dirs, because it means I don't need Yet Another Svn
Command (aka 'svn wc') to move around my working copy. Maybe I've just gotten
used to the way Subversion works, but it's pretty damn easy to type 'mv
/home/ben/wc1 /home/ben/wc2'.

If this feature is on by default, I can forsee the ~/.subversion/wc dir (or
wherever you are storing the .svn metadata) getting out of sync pretty quickly
on my machine. I would imagine the same goes for experienced CVS users, as
well.
