Nonsense. Your very question referenced the foremost tool that claims
to have the functionality you need -- ViewCVS. You were basically
asking, "Are there plans to make Subversion do what another piece of
software already does?"

I started using ViewCVS at the same time that I started hacking on it,
so my first user experiences were tainted by knowing the inner
workings of the code. I can say that, like every other piece of
software in the world, sometimes you try something that you think will
yield result X, and it doesn't, and you know not to do that anymore.
That doesn't make it "not very intuitive".

That's not true. I replied to you, asking if you could attempt to
isolate the problem. Karl Fogel replied to you, asking about your
version of Berkeley DB, and you asked if you could safely downgrade.
I guess at that point the chatter broke down. But don't make it sound
like you were just ignored.

Did you isolate the problem? Do you have a recipe for us to look at?
I ask (now, as I did then) because we've been running ViewCVS on
svn.collab.net for a really long time, and I've not seen any
indication that it is causing repository hangs. However, we are *not*
using the svn:// access method, so perhaps that is of interest.
