Don't worry; there is so much stuff out there, moving quietly through the
undergrowth.
Its got to the point where we will have to integrate a search tool into
automake, so the first time you run ./configure it will come back and say:
"Cannot find any sane reason to continue, 2 other people have written
versions of this".
On a more serious note, if there was a searchable project metadata
repository that would help.
