Great!

I manually flag each message containing a patch, and unflag any older
versions of that patch. I only check the age of the most recent version
of each patch. When a flagged message is older than a week, I take
action and look into the thread and into the source to find out what
happend to the patch. If it seems to be forgotten, I file an issue. So I
don't really care how old a thread is, as long as it's still active.
I have a tiny python script in my cron.daily that mails me a list of all
flagged messages older than a week. I can send you a copy of that script
if you're interested, however note that it only works with maildirs.
Also, while filing issues, note the following:
* Please add the author of the patch to the CC field (most patch authors
are already registered at tigris.org).
* If you're filing a documentation patch, please mark it with the
'inapplicable' milestone.
* As you might have noticed, I'm using the mailing list archive at
http://www.contactor.se/~dast/svn/ instead of the one at tigris.org.
Feel free to use the one you like.
