I had a problem some time ago doing a merge where there was a new file in
the merge that had spaces in it's name; the merge failed. When I renamed the
file to something without spaces, committed, and merged again the problem
was gone.
(I never actually got round to writing a recipe/repeatable testcase for
this...)

Would this be the same bug, or just a similar bug in a different place?

Ouch, this is *my* bug, part of r6026, over a month old. I can't
believe nobody noticed this. I guess unix folk don't often have
directories with spaces in them.

Fix coming up in a minute. I'll write a regression test too.
