+1 here. Especially if it could be combined with granular commit/read
authentication by Apache discussed in an earlier thread--I'd love to be
able to set up a tag with public read permissions, where I could link to
the latest approved versions of documents (instead of HEAD)--and then
use mod_AuthLDAP to manage commit access for different groups to
different branches in the repository.
