Err...no. It took me less time to code that fix than it would have to
cruise the issues database. Especially since issue 990 ends with
patches for a completely different thing (generic swig build support
for Windows). Sorry, dude. Your patch does appear to add a bunch of
error-checking that mine doesn't bother with, so we should keep it
around.
