Wow, thanks, Philip! After a few more tweaks, I now have stress.pl
running on Windows (3 parallel sessions on a dual-CPU box -- on a
ramdisk, no less -- plus one to clean up the BDB log files every 5
seconds). Looks fine for now, so I'll let it run overnight.

BTW, this is with the 0.23.0 binaries, still with BDB 4.0.14.

I'll be committing the changes soon.
