Okay, looks like I am checking out just fine from a remote computer,
so for whatever reason, if I request a round trip back to my
computer using DNS through the router, shit gets messed up. For now
I can live with that and just assume either it is a router issue or
a very unique subversion issue. Thanks for responding as I wouldn't
have arrived at a solution without the encouragement.

I still vote for the failed checkout repair bug as even with this
problem, I could keep at it until the import finished, but basically
I have to keep my fingers crossed that the internet connection stays
healthy during import.
