Subversion rocks. I've used VSS (I can't stand file locking), and CVS.
The beta of subversion (if it's even beta yet) is working like a charm.
ra_dav is a little slower than we'd like, but it works.

Subversion is now compelling my development team to use a very effective
development paradigm which CVS could not automatically enforce. Atomic
commits, svn mv, svn copy, and svn switch make svn shine way above CVS.
I've also looked into other scm packages, like bitkeeper, perforce, and
others. Subversion competes (and won for my team), even in its current
state.

So, kudos and great thanks to the talented developers of subversion.
Now, if only I could be as talented as some on this project...
