This sounds related to what Appendix D is talking about: some win32
boxes demand authentication even when apache doesn't. And here you
are, saying that forcing apache to issue a challenge makes webfolders
work. Hmmmmmmm.

Webfolders seems totally inconsistent from machine to machine, and
quite fubar to me. :-)
