I would go with 2, but whatever you guys think is best. I have a hunch that
this whole section of code is just problematic. (I was kind of shocked it
made it into 0.20, but that's me.)

I don't have the time right now to do 3. But, I might this weekend if someone
can expand a bit exactly how option 3 would work. -- justin
