Erm, I'm not so positive about that. An argument can be made that
such a feature not a good idea when taken to its logical extreme.

And is it really so important? Sure, some people have 'get' or 'com'
hardwired in from CVS, but it's not like Subversion is exactly the
same CVS in other respects, either. Is it so hard to learn a few new
commands when learning a new program? Personally, I don't look
forward to fixing bugs resulting from an aliasing, nor reading bug
reports from people who use commands I've never heard of :-), and
wondering for some of those report whether the bug is caused by the
aliasing system or something else.

IMHO, this should at least not be pre-1.0, though that's certainly not
intended as a veto.
