Indeed. What the numbering scheme is I don't much care about, but it
would be nice to have an *official* release that is said to be stable
for real users soon. It can have provisos like "we'll be making major
changes in interfaces", and it an be numbered anything you like, but
it has to be labeled "stable (in the sense of bugs) release".

By the way, at the same time, it would be good to have a users mailing
list, separate from the developers mailing list, for people who are
purely users to ask questions about using the product...
