svn status misses some modified files..

Hi,
   I'm working with svn r3687 on Win2k. I have just noticed that when I copy an old file into a working folder it doesn't appear in svn status as modified, presumably because its date is older than the copy in text-base. The only way for me to get these files into the repository is to open them manually and make a change and resave. Even a -u switch doesn't help.

Is this a feature or a bug? :-)
