In fact, it's been brought up lots of times. It's good that you checked
the archives, and it's not your fault that Tigris's list archiving
sucks. But if a mailing list has a several-year history, you can safely
assume that someone has brought up the reply-to issue. (As well as the
"[listname]" in subject issue.)

We don't set reply-to because most of us don't agree with doing that for
mailing lists. See http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html for a
list of reasons. Those reasons don't add up to an absolutely compelling
argument, but most of us agree with enough of them that setting reply-to
wouldn't make sense.

In my mind, setting reply-to might make sense when many of your
subscribers aren't very computer-savvy and can't be trusted to pick a
wide versus narrow reply to a message. But that class of people isn't
generally interested in nascent open source version control projects.
