Interesting performance results over DAV

I've charted the DAV vs Local performance results.

Alot of the time the DAV perf tests were dying with timeouts. In trying
to track down the problem, I noticed that the timeouts didn't occur when
httpd was running in 'httpd -X' mode. Also, the performance of 'httpd
-X' is much faster than normal httpd. In some cases DAV over 'httpd -X'
finished the operation faster than ra_local!!! Any ideas on how to go
about tracking down this problem with apache?
