already-locked dir

After doing a checkout and control-c'ing in the middle, a future attempt
to update results in the following error message. Is there any
workaround for this? In particular I'm just thinking that this could be
a big pain to not beable to do a partial download and then continue later.

svn: Attempted to lock an already-locked dir
svn: working copy locked:

C:\svn\subversion>
