I think so too :-)

The time frame basically goes like this:

o Students pick a project - Nov 29, 2002
o Employer and HiO signs an agreement - December-January
o Project work starts - early January 2003
o Project finish - May 28th, 2003

I have made a rough translation of the Standard Agreement[1] used. It is
quite possible to make amendments to some of the points, if the employer has
special requirements.

[1]
Agreement on final project - Spring of 2003

This agreement defines HiO's(Oslo University College) and the employer's
duties and rights in relation to the project.

1 - Employer [COMPANY]

2 - Project title [TITLE]

The project is described in the attached project sketch. The project is to
be carried out from the beginning of January to the end of May.

3 - Rights

All results of the project fully belongs to the employer. HiO can, unless
other agreements are made, make use of the project in it's internal work and
put project documentation in it's library.

4 - Student group

The project is to be carried out by a group of students. The work with the
project is a part of the education, and the students are therefore subject
to HiO regulations and rules during the project work. It is expected that
the student group work with the project to the best of their abilities. The
students are not to receive any compensation for their work. The student
group consists of [Names of students]

5 - Confidentiality

Both HiO and the student group have a duty not to disclose any information
they might receive from the employer in connection with the project if the
employer wants this information kept confidential.

6 - Guidance

The employer should at all times provide a contact person for the student
group. This person will help the students define the boundaries and
requirements of the project. HiO will appoint a member of their own faculty
as an internal mentor for the student group.

7 - Equipment

All equipment and software belonging to HiO and which is available for this
use, will be made available for the student group. If HiO software is a part
of a solution that will be used at a later time, the employer must acquire
his own version of the software. All special equipment and special software
not at HiO's disposal that is required for the completion of the task, must
be made available by the employer. If the project requires the students to
be present at the employer's premises, the necessary office space must be
made available. The employer must make sure all equipment borrowed to
students are sufficiently insured. All use of HiO's equipment happens
without charge to the employer. The employer covers his own costs in
relation to the project. Any expenses beyond this must be agreed separately.

8 - Responsibility

The employer must be aware that the project is part of the students'
education. HiO and the project group therefore has no responsibility for the
result of the project. HiO is not responsible for any damage to equipment
belonging to the employer. The employer is responsible for insuring this
equipment.

9 - Certificate

The employer will give the student group a certificate if the project has
been carried out in a satisfactory manner.

10 - Changes and signatures

Any changes to this agreement must be documented in a separate attachment.
This agreement is signed in two copies where HiO and the employer each have
their own copy.
