Seriously though - right now I'm considering on just having the files
in their "unconverted" state - eg. having them as a regular file, with
the contents as it shows in the repository.

But it's still too early to decide that - we'll see when the design
progresses.

For the record - I do not intend to make symlinks as shortcuts on
Windows - the semantics are different and a shortcut to /dev/null is
hardly going to be relevant on windows.
