I agree with what you are going for. I am quite convinced that we will
need some client-side hooking capability for all sorts of
autogeneration things and versioning stuff that isn't common and isn't
supported by the svn client natively.

However, this is a can of worms, and I'm not going fishing anytime
soon. If you are, I'll join you after 1.0 is out :-)

Special files should work without invocating programs outside the
subversion client - so I'm working based on that.
