That sounds reasonable, especially if svn is as close to a 1.0
release as it's sounding.

It sounds like Tom has some very good, though ambitious, plans for
what the future should/could look like, and it would be ashame if it
were not to materialize. By the same token, many have made it clear
that CVS just isn't cutting it anymore and they *need* a replacement
soon.

With a new mailing list, svn 1.0 could continue on track, but Tom's
ideas could be discussed/ripped apart/re-aligned/whatever, *and*
he could start work on the project for 2.0 or 3.0, or where ever it's
decided all these great ideas fit best.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
