No one claimed it's a non-issue ("not a showstopper" is different from
"non-issue"). But bringing a new network layer to the level of
quality we currently get from ra_dav would take a full-time developer
or two out of the picture for a month at least. We simply can't
justify that, especially when WebDAV is working so well and giving us
so much for free.

You're welcome to disagree with these priorities, of course. But so
far, no one has disagreed strongly enough to put development time into
a solution; which leads me to think that this is the biggest problem
we face.

Of course, nowadays there's ra_pipe -- you could try helping out with
that effort, maybe?

Good luck,
-Karl
