I was just guessing, trying to figure out why in fact Subversion *is*
modifying the files, even though (supposedly) it was *not* explicitely told
to do so. My guess was that some conversion, either with Subversion or
Apache, was going wrong, where if it had gone right there wouldn't have been
any change, as designed.

I did not build Subversion, and I've only worked with libsvn_fs and
libsvn_repos, so I couldn't be sure of this.

Anyway, sorry for making noise, but obviously there is a bug somewhere.

I see now that you (Branko) noticed that it's likely a deltification problem,
so I'll retract my guess.
