temporary deactivation of the `users' mailing list

There's been some confusion about the `users' mailing list. We've
been consciously trying to keep all traffic on the dev list, because
the developers *want* to see what users are encountering. Subversion
is not yet at the point where a large community of users can answer
routine questions, while saving the dev list for more technical stuff.
Right now, it's better just to have everyone scanning everything. If
we used the users list, people would just have to constantly
cross-post :-).

Greg, Ben, Mike and I talked about this, and decided that the best way
to avoid confusion would be to just delete the `users' list until the
dev list is

   a) unbearable :-), and
   b) getting a lot of posts that could have easily been
classified *by the posters* as usage questions

Hope this doesn't ruin anyone's day. I've CC'd all the former
subscribers of `users' on this mail, though I think all of them were
on dev anyway.
