i would be much more comfortable with the 'svn url' command or
something like it than with anything like the other suggestions people
have been putting forth. i don't think we're likely to find a 'magic
sequence' that will work everywhere, or even most places, and even if
we can, it feels like we're cluttering up our interface with it.
