The port 81 thing might be worth trying, but, it looks like he has read
the FAQ entry. Note the "... proxies we have no hope of ever changing
..."

I assume he means he isn't able to get the proxy to accept DAV requests.

If his proxy supports the CONNECT method for ports 80 or 81, he could
use an HTTP proxy tunnel. Someone mentioned one on this list the last
time proxy issues were being discussed.
