Even though pcl-cvs's interface is a better fit for Subversion, I do
hope people will still try out the Subversion back end for VC. At the
height of my pcl-cvs usage, I still found that I used VC for some
commands --- log, diff, etc. VC doesn't make you pull up a directory
listing to do everything. And there's really no reason to exclude one
in favor of the other; Emacs makes it easy to simply use whatever
command suits your fancy at the moment.

Since VC has a reasonably well-defined interface to its back ends,
adding a Subversion back end there was simply the shortest path to
getting something working.
