i don't see any problem with putting it in debian, i mean we've had
packages for redhat forever (although i don't knwo if anyone
distributes them), and freebsd's had a port for a long time as well.

you might want to put some kind of warning on it to let people know
that it's not for production use yet, but other than that i don't see
any issue with putting it in debian.
