Can I dare hope this will culminate in the New Way of Runing DAV Tests? :-)

That is, haveing the test harness generate a config fragment for Apache
that includes all the test repos, and throwing out the current_repo
symlink hack, so that we can ron automated DAV tests on filesystems that
don't support symlinks?
