On APR, I did:

        cvs up
        make clean
        ./buildconf
        ./config.nice
        make && make install

Here's what I see:

[root@valentine apr]# head -2 STATUS
APACHE PORTABLE RUNTIME (APR) LIBRARY STATUS: -*-text-*-
Last modified at [$Date: 2002/01/29 16:10:14 $]
[root@valentine apr]# /usr/local/bin/apr-config --libs
- -lm -lcrypt -lnsl -ldl
[root@valentine apr]# /usr/local/bin/apr-config --cflags
- -g -O2 -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations
- -pthread

There is no mkmf.log file, but I am attaching the config.log, compressed.
