Just curious: would deleting the history leave some kind of note in
the logs, like "revisions 14-18 purged on <date, time> by <user>", or
would they leave no trace at all? And in the former case, would it
also be possible to delete the logs, not just the actual contents of
the repository?

If deleting history is allowed, it seems like a good idea to leave
some permanent note, because nobody really has any need to hide the
fact that something had to be deleted, just the content of what was
deleted, right?
