Thank god someone is working on that!

I am so used to perforce dumping me into an editor to compose my
commit messages at work, and I will be much happier when svn can do
the same...

As for ideas, the only thing I really want is for the default message
to start with a list of files changed in the format we currently use.
Something like this:

* subversion/foo/bar.c
* subversion/includes/bar.h

To make a good log message simple to write.

In the future, there should probably be a way to customize this
template, but for now, I'd be more than happy with this.
