Our error messages are pretty losing right now, yeah; that's going to
be fixed.

The NEW USERS START HERE link should definitely point to something
useful, though, thanks for mentioning it. Mike is bouncing the
repository server right now, so I can't test it, but I will as soon as
he's done.

By the way, the string is actually "Newcomers START HERE!!", and the
page it appears on is

   http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList

It helps us a lot if you can be extremely precise when reporting
problems with the web site; then we don't have to guess, we can just
go directly to the spot and look at the problem.

Others have already responded about the error itself. Was that
helpful, and did you find out why the command failed?
